Charles L. Sidman, MBA, PhD, is Founder and Managing Partner of ECS Capital Partners, LLC, an innovative early-stage venture fund based in Bar Harbor, Maine, USA, but operating globally. He is a founding member of the American Angel Capital Association (ACA), past president of the Crowdfunding Professional Association (CfPA), a frequent advocate for, contributor to and speaker on financial, entrepreneurship, policy and ethical issues in Washington, D.C. and beyond, an enthusiastic member of and participant at NACO, EBAN, GBAN and numerous other professional organisations and networks, and a 2018 Special Recognition Honoree of EBAN.
He invests in and supports early-stage companies throughout the world using Angel investing, Venture Capital, Crowdfunding and the public markets. Dr. Sidman retired as Professor of Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry and Microbiology from the College of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati, where he also served for many years as Professor of Management in the College of Business and in the university-wide Honors Scholars Program. His education includes a PhD in Immunology from Harvard University, an MBA specialising in Management from the University of Cincinnati, and sabbatical study in Complex Systems at the Santa Fe Institute. He is also an ATP-licensed pilot and Certificated Flight Instructor, and a former Commissioned Officer in the Massachusetts Army National Guard.
